The Eagle, Hawks, & Owls of Eagle Awareness Weekend |
|||
| The Little Rock Zoo presents some 17 different live birds of prey on stage. This is a chance of a lifetime for most people to see live birds of prey up close. All of the birds are comfortable on stage. Lights, cameras, noise, people, nothing seems to bother them. They remain calm and observant. | |||
| What To Do If You Find An Injured Bird of Prey If anyone in the area finds a wounded or sick bird of prey, they can call the Bull Shoals State Park at 870-431-5521. Ask for our rehabber Joe Tobin or Ashlie Dodson. One of the park's two helpers will pick up the bird, or the bird can be delivered to the park. The rehab unit is not open to the public. However, birds which cannot be rehabilitated are used for educational programs. | |||
| Each bird has a handler who understands how to work with it on stage. After the presentation is over the audience is invited to come up on stage for a close look. You can look into the eyes of these magnificent birds from a couple of feet away. There is no glass or wire, it is you and the bird up close! However, petting or touching is not permitted. You can take photos and ask the handlers questions about each bird. | |||
