Eagle Awareness Weekend is presented by the Bull Shoals-White River State Park staff in co-operation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  Raptor rehabilitaters, falconers, many volunteers, and the Little Rock Zoo work with the park staff to make this event one of the most popular of the year.

Children and adults alike thrill at the live presentations of owls, hawks, eagles, and even vultures. Experts explain how the birds hunt and survive against some tough odds. At the end of the presentations the audience is invited to come up on stage for a close look at the birds.

Falconer Howard Davis and his trained hawk "Easy" have been a favorite event at Eagle Awareness for several years now. Easy flies about the theater, then zeros in on treats Howard offers. Howard's stories about training hawks to hunt are both fascinating and humorous.
